Why The Site

I'm Craig Parker. No, not the Lord of the Rings actor, but a guy from Maine. I've been a recovering Windows user since about 2002, and totally kicked the habit in about 2004. The only Windows I use now is at my day job, and only because I have to.

While this site was initially built to SELL laptops with Linux preinstalled. Dell came out about two weeks after I registered the domain with laptops selling for cheaper than I could even get them, so I gave up pretty early on and this domain lay dormat for a couple years.

Lately though, in shopping for a new laptop, I realized that there aren't that many good "review" types of sites in the Linux/laptops department, so I decided to revamp the site and provide handy information to folks who are searching not for how to make Linux run on an old laptop, but people looking to buy a NEW laptop that will run glitch free with Linux.

It will be slow going for a while, but progess is steady. I'm working on several manufacturers and vendors, hoping they will lend me some laptops so that I can test out the "Linux-friendliness" of their products. As the Linux community grows, I expect they will see the valuein such a site and give me laptops to test.
